I’ve officially transitioned my SEO blog from the free wordpress.COM to the paid wordpress.ORG version. Everything went off without a hitch and I can’t thank the WordPress team enough for making this process ridiculously easy. I have yet to work on the color scheme and layout although that can always come later.
With that out of the way, I think it’s time to set some goals for my new blog domain. I am the type of person who likes to reassess their goals every year, half-year and quarter. I admit it maybe a little extreme but it keeps me focused on my long term goals. For example, when I was first hired as an SEO Analyst at CafePress, I re-evaluated my job responsibilities every month. In fact, I still have them!
CafePress is looking for an enthusiastic, career minded and motivated addition to its growing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) team. Although prior SEO experience is not required, you are expected to be extremely web savvy and a self-starter. Recent college graduates are highly encouraged to apply. Your primary focus will be researching competitor websites, emailing webmasters relevant to our core businesses and developing creative methods to drive visitors to our websites. We are looking for someone who is highly intelligent, ambitious, hard-working and looking to excel in the world of online marketing.
- Become company expert in SEO (search engine optimization)
- Build inbound links to various CafePress landing pages
- Research keywords for various verticals
- Continuous researching and testing of SEO methods to maximize ROI
- Learn and identify new link building strategies
In case you were wondering, these were all completed within the first couple of months - and then some.
Given my border line obsession to succeed, I find it only appropriate to list out my new and improved goals for this blog. These come in no particular order of importance so try not to read too much in the listing order.

Now that I’ve shared a little more about me, what about yourself? What goals have you set for your blog and how often do you re-evaluate them? You can either leave a comment below or let me know over Twitter!
